Possible Resources
There are many different ways that we would be able to get information about the disabled population in our market area. The first resource we will be using is going to be the Census. In the reasearch section of our website there is a graph showing the number of people with disabilities in the area. We will be able to use that information to figure out what different types of disabilities there are in the area and what disabilities we will be working with more than others.
The next way we are going to get information about the area is from the park district. Since we are partnering with them we will have access to their records of past programs that they have had. We can look at participation levels of similiar events and see how they would be able to relate to our events at Bedrock. Also, talking with people from the park district who have worked there for multiple years will also allow us to learn more about the disabled population in our area. These people will be able to tell us about past experiences that they have had with participants with disabilities or what types of disabilities they seem to see more frequently. These are going to be two great resources that we will be able ot use. These resources are going to help us multiple times and be very benificial throughout the entire process of building Bedrock.
