ADA Checklist for Bedrock

Accessibly Approach/ Entrance
People with disabilities will be able to arrive on site, approach the music venue and enter as easily as everyone else.  The route of travel towards the venue does not have stairs.  The route’s material is concrete and is slip-resistant.  The route is a minimum of 40 inches in width. A water fountain is in the middle of the route with a circular 40 inch width walking area. People who have a visual impairment will be able to hear the fountain.

Parking
Our parking garage is 4 levels. Each level holds 200 parking spaces. A total of 800 parking spaces in the garage. All levels will have 8 handicap parking spaces. The parking garage will have an elevator and stairs. Outside the garage there will be more handicap spaces that will have van accessible spaces. All handicap spaces are 8 foot-wide and 98 inches of vertical clearance.

Ramp
A ramp is located in the back of the music venue. The purpose of the ramp is to getting heavy equipment into the building. However, it can be universally used for everyone. Every 12 inches that the ramp increasing will be 1 inch in height. The ramp is no longer than 6 feet and will have railings on both sides that will be 36 inches in height.

Doors
All doors will have a 32 inch clear opening. 18 inches of the clear wall space will be next to the handle for easy access for a person using a wheelchair or crutches can get near an open door.  All doors can be opening with little force. Also, an automatic door open button will be at the main entrance and back entrance of the building.

Rooms & Spaces
Office areas will have cubicles. Each set of cubicles will have at least 36 inches in width between them.  There will be a designated area of 6 feet of space for a wheel chair to make a complete turn. Carpet in the office and dressing rooms will be low to the ground and tightly woven and secured along all edges of the room. Storage rooms will be an open space with shelving along each wall.

Emergency System
All emergency detectors will be loud and visible to ensure the safety of customers and employees. 

Signs
Signs will be mounted 60 inches from the floor. Signs that need to be by the door will be mounted on the wall adjacent to the latch on the door handle. Raise characters with high contrast for room numbers, restrooms, and exits. The six of the raised characters will be 5/8 and 2 inches high. Along with the brailed text with the same information. Directional area signs will be above 80 inches with 3 inch high lettering with no glare in order for people to see from a far distance.

Seating
 Wheelchair seating is in the front of the stage. There is no elevator or stairs to get to this seating.

Counters: Concessions & Ticket Booths
 All counters will have a portion more than 36 inches high at the main counter. There will also be a space at the side of concessions for passing of items for customers who have difficulty reaching.

Elevators
All elevators will have audible door opening/closing and floor indicators.  Calls buttons will be no higher than 42 inches in the hallway. All letters inside and outside the elevator doors will have raised and Braille lettering.  Signage will be placed appropriately. Floor numbers will be between door jambs. In addition, an emergency intercom inside the elevator will be identified with raised letting and Braille.

Restrooms
There are at least two restrooms for public use for each gender to access.  Each restroom will have an accessibly stall for people with a disability. Mounted signs on the wall with both raised lettering and Braille. The lavatory rim is no higher than 34 inches, and a clearance of 29 inches from the floor to the bottom of the lavatory apron for full access to the sink. All soap dispenser and hand dryers are motion sensory.
